Who are we?
Our Mission, CREATING AWARENESS
Right to Dignity Congress (RDC Zimbabwe) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to challenging aberrant politics in Zimbabwe, and creating a platform for freedom of speech, human rights and dignity to be restored.
RDC has an ambitious vision for what Zimbabwe as a nation can be. A nation where every person is nurtured to become whoever they want to be, where if you play your part in society, you can live a happy and fulfilling life, and where we do everything in our power to secure the future for our children.
- Year 2000 - seize white-owned farms in a violent campaign
- Year 2000, Zanu-PF narrowly wins parliamentary
- Year 2008, Opposition MDC claims victory
- Year 2009, Tsvangirai is sworn in as prime minister
- Year 2018, election results delayed - soldiers shot unarmed protesters
Our Plan for Better Politics
Everybody, wherever they live, should be given a proper chance to influence the decisions that affect them. But, as it stands, Zimbabwean politics is far from delivering this for people. Too many Zimbabweans and for a long time have been cheated out of a voice and a vote. For some, that is because they have just given up and see no need to vote as they feel that it does not matter who they vote for since the same party will always claim to have won.
Our Core Values
“A community is democratic only when the humblest and weakest person can enjoy the highest civil, economic, and social rights that the biggest and most powerful possess.”
- Restore Dignity
- Restore freedom of speech
-
End rampant corruption
-
Ensure food security
Our Plan for Better Politics
Everybody, wherever they live, should be given a proper chance to influence the decisions that affect them. But, as it stands, Zimbabwean politics is far from delivering this for people. Too many Zimbabweans and for a long time have been cheated out of a voice and a vote. For some, that is because they have just given up and see no need to vote as they feel that it does not matter who they vote for since the same party will always claim to have won.
We believe the people of Zimbabwe deserve and are entitled to much more than the current political system has delivered. We want an end to apparent corruption and an end the nepotism. We want to empower people and promote solidarity, community spirit, respect, and above all unity. Together we are stronger and together we can change our country.
RDC guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities to all its citizens, and declares its resolve to pursue the happiness and prosperity of the whole nation and of all its parts, cherishing all of the children of the nation equally.
Right to Dignity Congress have a plan to radically transform our political system so that Zimbabweans can live in a democratic country. A plan that will mend our broken politics so that we can get on with building a fairer society that protects each Citizen’s right to democracy.
- Giving people a voice with a fair voting system so that everyone’s vote counts.
- Allowing Zimbabwean citizens abroad to vote.
- Electoral commission should be impartial, without Government influence.
- Allow for election results to be audited by an independent accounting bodies.
Our Plan for Better Economy
Zimbabweans work hard and they should have good, fulfilling and well-paying jobs. Businesses and entrepreneurs who innovate and invest and behave responsibly to their employees and to the environment should be supported. The failure of governments to invest in infrastructure and skills has undermined productivity.
We believe Zimbabwe is capable of producing enough to ensure food security.
We believe Zimbabwe has enough natural resources and rich in minerals which can sustain and aid development if they are managed to profit the Nation as a whole.
- Food security.
- Health sector revamp.
- Ensure revenue from ZIMRA is accounted for
- Guaranteed electricity supply.
